TROJANS WRESTLING ACADEMY

TWA is well under way! TWA is not designed to take wrestlers away from any already established youth wrestling club, but instead is designed to help compliment those clubs by providing wrestlers 6th-12th grade with more personal help in developing into the wrestlers that is ready for any challenges they might face on and off the mat. There is a weekly fee charged to participate in TWA, but it is much less than any other type of training available from college level coaches. TWA will be staffed by Hannibal-LaGrange College coaching staff as well as HLG wrestlers. Click here for more information about TWA.
If you have any interest to learn more about TWA, contact Coach Hawes at (573)629-3225 or e-mail him at Shawes@hlg.edu.

                  TROJAN WRESTLING ACADEMY'S
                              FIRST STATE QUALIFIER

Last weekend Zach Abney, a sophomore from Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, IL, claimed first place in the Illinois Class 1A Vandalia Sectional. Abney's 3 wins on the day included one technical fall and he won his semi-final match by 5 points and his final match 8-0. Abney was a camper last summer at Trojan Wrestling Camp last summer and also attended Trojan Wrestling Academy this year. This is the first time Abney qualified for the IHSA State Wrestling Tournament. Abney is also the first state qualifier who has participated in the newly developed Trojan Wrestling Academy. I wish I could be at the IHSA tournament to see Zach compete, but we will be at our NAIA Regional Qualifier Event and will be unable to attend. Congratulations Zach Abney!
